USB microphone disappears when Skype call starts and reappears when it ends

Bug Description

Dear friends,

I've a USB microphone, which just when a Skype call begins, it just disappears from the input selection. When the Skype call ends, it returns.

Either this is inconsistent or has been fixed. I've tested and not experienced it any more.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
