Sound works on first reboot, but not thereafter?

Bug Description

When i install ubuntu, the first run i can play MP3 en heare the sounds of the
ubuntu desktop.
But when i reboot the system it lost its sound and can't play MP3 files anymore.

This happens with more soundcards on the same system.

Have you checked the mixer levels? Is everything unmuted? What changes did you
make before the reboot? Send dmesg output.

Also send the output of the lsmod command.
