Fildling a bit, the problem seems to be linked to the alsa mixer levels and rec status which are reset everytime I unplug and replug my headset with microphone. Not very practical, specially since there are no way to set this from any tool in the system's setting panel...

Not sure about Mic Boost, but Dock Mic Capture Volume & Dock Mic Capture Switch are both reset to 0 everytime I plug-in my headphone&mic.
If you gave me the command you used to produce the above output, I could be more specific. So far I have been using a gui to alsa mixer to set the values.

summary: - [2516CTO, Conexant CX20585, Black Mic, Right] No sound at all
+ [2516CTO, Conexant CX20585, Dock Mic] Reset to 0 at each plug-in

the pulseauio server mute the other input sources (e.g. int mic and dock mic) when ext mic is plugged . this mean dock mic and ext mic cannot share the volume control and switches at node 0x14
