Bug Description

Simply put, the laptop's speakers do not auto-mute when I plug something into the headphone jack. And when I have them plugged in when I turn on the laptop, the speakers remain mute whenever I pull the headphones out.

I have tried specifying different models in alsa-base.conf, but none of them worked. "laptop" used to work, but it doesn't seem to anymore. Others I've tried have failed to bring results as well.

I'm refiling this bug with the newer information w/ Ubuntu 12.04. My initial bug report was two years ago in Bug #649176.

I marked the old bug as a duplicate (since this one has fresh info).
Have you tried model=acer-aspire-4930g for the keyword?

I can try model=acer-aspire-4930g one more time, but I did try it once and it failed to help.
