Bug Description
Binary package hint: alfresco-community
Alfresco can serve up the document repository as CIFS (windows share) and webdav however these services are on ports lower than 1024 so need root access. Tomcat runs as the tomcat6 user and can't open the ports. The solution is to move the tomcat ports to numbers over 1024 and use firewall rules in the init script (which runs as root) to map them to the low numbered ports. This is described in the alfresco troubleshooting page http://
