Alexandria covers from jpeg files not visualized any more

Bug Description
I have been using Alexandria for years on Ubuntu 10.04, downloading the covers from jpeg or jpg or gif files that are in my directories. It has always been working. Recently it happened that the covers are not visualized any more and instead of them I see again the blue covers which are the default in Alexandria. The covers of my collection are correctly visualized when the library is transferred to another computer. Any idea?
