Alexandria crashes consistently when trying to add a book

Bug Description
Looks like i am wrong here, but I am unexperienced with bug reports.
I am using Ubuntu 11.10 in the following configuration (no idea whether this is of relevance)
AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual Core Processor BE-2350 × 2
GeForce 8500 GT/PCI/SSE2
64 Bit, 3,9 GiB of Memory
I installed Alexandria manually and have to start if from a shell, it will not be found in DASH
It shows the library (small, 20 books to date added), but when I try to add a book via the dialogue (search by ISBN or name) it will consistently crash with the following messages in the shell:
