Menu entries in sub-menus cannot be created

Reproduction:

1. Open Alacarte (right-click on Ubuntu-Icon in panel)

2. open a menu entry

3. select a sub-menu

4. create a new menu entry in this sub-menu

Result: the new menu entry does not appear in the sub-menu (as expected) but in the parent menu.

I can confirm this bug. Also the submenu selected for the entry creation seems to "vanish" until the new entry was deleted.

If for example I create a menu under Office menu and then try to move the entries from Office inside this sub-menu, it simply does nothing...

On Ubuntu 14.04 with alacarte 3.10.x, icons will not appear even in the parent submenus anymore. They will all go to "All Applications"-menu.
