Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-games

When a player wins a game the attached image (screenshoot.png) appears.

If a player wants to see statistics it has two options:
1. Press close, application is closed an then reopens application, however a new game is started;
2. Press start a new game and upper menu is available;

This is not very user friendly since stats (and all the menus like help) should be available without to start a new game since if user don't play the game or loses the game will have an extra defeat.

So there should be 3 buttons:
1. Close --> closes the application
2. New Game... --> starts a new game
3. Ok --> closes only the message box, no new game is started and the menus are available

Hi Sebastian,

Yes, it's reproducible. To appear the message just open Freecell Solitaire (Applications->Games->FreeCell Solitaire) and play one game. If you win the game then the message appears.

Regarding the versions I'm using:

aniki@anikimachine:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04

aniki@anikimachine:~$ apt-cache policy gnome-games
gnome-games:
  Installed: 1:2.26.1-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 1:2.26.1-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 1:2.26.1-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://pt.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Thanks for your help

ok, what else behaviour would you suggest? adding a button? not autostarting a game when opening the software? something else?

Adding just a button would be enough.

So there should be 3 buttons:
1. Close --> closes the application
2. Ok --> closes only the message box, no new game is started and the menus are available
3. New Game... --> starts a new game

reporter is suggesting an extra button as stated on the summary, this should go upstream where the application is developed, for forwarding instructions please have a look to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME ; thanks in advance.
