Bug Description

Binary package hint: adobeair

I have a self signed air app, that installed fine under ubuntu 10.10, I upgraded to ubuntu 11.04 over the weekend, and when I tried to update my air app, it removed the old one and refused to install the new one.
I have reinstalled 11.04 from scratch and the problem persists. I have switched to lubuntu 11.04 and the problem persists. I have recompiled the air app and it persists.
Regular signed air apps install fine, but not self signed apps. It throws a "Sorry, an error has occurred. Error #1"

Hi,

Its probable that the signature used for the app update doesn't match the one provided earlier or the app is not uninstalled properly. Can you attach your log file:

~/.appdata/Adobe/AIR/Logs/Install.log

Have you tried installing other self-signed apps too?

Thanks,
Neha

Hi Neha,
I cannot send you the log file because I have switched to Fedora, but I can
explain what I did a little better.
I had my app running in Ubuntu 10.10 just fine. Over the weekend, I upgraded
to 11.04, and at the same time I made some bugfixes to my app.
When I tried to install the new version, it uninstalled the old one, then
went through the installation procedure until the part where it would
normally pop the root auth dialog. When it gets to that part, it fails with
the error "Sorry, an error has occurred." and an error code of "Error #1"
(Not very helpful).

I thought there might be a problem with the cert I used to self-sign the
app, so I generated a new cert using adt -certificate, and tried to
reinstall with the same results as above. (I did not attempt to uninstall
the original app, but the directory it was installed to was completely gone)

Next, I completely wiped the system and installed lubuntu 11.04. After
installing Adobe Air, I tried installing my app with the exact same results
