Bug Description

during 11.10 upgrade an error occurred with adobe flash player
post installation youtube seems to load the video, but does not play it
is this a common problem?

How did you install Flash Player? Can you please open the Software Center, search for "adobe-flashplugin" and ensure that this package is installed?

I accessed software centre and it allowed me to re-install flashplugin 10 again, it removed it first?!

I was hopeful, but still no youtube in firefox, can access youtube in chromium though....

If you open "about:plugins" page in Firefox, does it list Flash plugin?

it lists shockwave flash 11.0r1

thats all related to adobe flash
