Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

The Ubuntu adium theme that is being shipped with Lucid Empathy is scaling avatars incorrectly in the conversation window. Non-square avatars are stretched to square format and large avatars are not properly antialiased. Neither problem happens with, for example, the "simple" theme, which also shows avatars.

Fixing the bug is quite easy in the main.css file of the adium theme. The cause is that the ".chatItem .avatar" class stretches both width and height. Commenting out the width line solves the problem.

Correction: the scale problem is solved, but the anti-aliasing problem is still there.

If I figure this out, I'll try to come up with a patch.
