Bug Description
In a Kubuntu 8.10 desktop:
1. Open adept manager in K-menu -> system -> adept manager
2. Type in at most 3 characters (e.g. 'vim')
It doesn't do anything but it is supposed to list packages containing e.g. 'vim'. That forced me to install 'vim' using other methods.

Thanks for the report. This issue have already been reported in #285050. Marking this one as duplicate. For your information KPackagekit is available in Jaunty and my experience is that it does a better job compared to Adept.
