Bug Description

I'm running intrepid alpha3 updated until 9 August 2008, additionally installed kde-desktop. For the rest nothing additionally was installed.

I get an update indication of adept, but when I press it I see it starting up in the toolbar and then disappearing. If I run it from a terminal I get the following

desktop:~$ kdesudo adept_installer
kdesudo(5199) KdeSudo::KdeSudo: [ /build/buildd/kdesudo-3.2/kdesudo/kdesudo.cpp : 157 ] creating xauth file: "/usr/bin/xauth -q -f /tmp/kdesudo-TT5199-xauth generate :0.0 . trusted timeout 60 >/dev/null 2>&1"
kbuildsycoca running...
kapture::PkgSystem::PkgSystem()
adduser
debconf
sysklogd
snort-mysql
oinkmaster
KCrash: Application 'adept_installer' crashing...
Could not find 'drkonqi' executable.
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly.

Looking on the system I can see drkonqi in /usr/shar/kde4/apps/drkonqi, but it's probably not in the default path.

I'm having the same problem here, running Intrepid Alpha 3, updated today.

I'm having the same issue with adept-manager also. It starts up, opens a window, loads for a bit, then disappears again. Output in a terminal is the same as the one from adept-installer, except for the "Could not find 'drkonqi' executable." line, so I believe it's not related to that.

Attached with this post is the output from GDB and a backtrace.
