Entered inforrect formatted software source: packet managers crash

Wanted to add "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/project-neon/ubuntu hardy main" to sources list but entered "http://ppa.launchpad.net/project-neon/ubuntu hardy main"

After submitting, all package managers crashed. Perhaps a check in the GUI wether the entered source is formatted properly, could be useful.

Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make Kubuntu better.

When I tried to reproduced this, I did not see a crash, but in fact an error message that clearly stated where the problem is, and then the application exited since there is no use of running it without this.

How did you make the changes to the sources.list file? Did you change it manually, or did you change it thought the adept interface?

I retested this problem by using the adept interface for the change in the sources.list file. It does not check the input for correct input.

In addition, when the "deb" at the beginning is missing, it puts all subsequent additions into the same line.
