Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept-updater

I don't know if somebody has reported this bug, but I think that is very important to check and the backtrace look little diferent, comparing to the rest of bugs that i saw.

My computer: Inspiron 6000
Ram: 2GB
Processor: Intel (R) Pentium (R) M processor 2.13 Ghz

O. S.:
Ubuntu 8.04
KDE 3.5.9

I don't know what else can help you about the bug's information, I attached the backtrace file and If is some else to help, please write me.

I ran the adept_update on console and the results before crash were that:

kapture::PkgSystem::PkgSystem()
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-songoku" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.

I can confirm this bug. It happens every time I attempt to start adept_updater. The window appears, showing the following status messages in the bottom before crashing (with no interaction from me):

Could not find 'drkonqi' executable.
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly.

I've got adduser, debconf, and sysklogd installed, but not snort-mysql or oinkmaster.

This is on a newly updated intrepid alpha-3 of Kubuntu (x86 version). No special customisation done, installed it just a few days ago.

Tore, your crash would be bug 255462.
Currently you can wait until Adept3 packages are made officially available or you can get them from mornfall's ppa.

This bug, however, is also most likely fixed in Adept 3.0. I'll mark it in progress until Adept3 hits the official repos.
