Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpid

Whenever I try to suspend or hibernate on my laptop the screen has a blinking cursor at the top-left with everything else black. Nothing comes back on, requiring a full reboot.

The power-light does not go into power-down mode either (red on the Vaio TZ).

I am running Ubuntu 8.04.1, the Hardy Heron.

Hardy has reached end of life. Do you have this issue with 12.04 or later?
