How did the post-installation script fail?
You might the output for it in /var/log/apt/*, /var/log/dist-upgrade/term.log or similar.

It's likely to be a duplicate of bug 63450.
It would be nice, if you could investigate and un-duplicate the bug, in case I'm wrong.
