Bug Description
1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)
Release: 14.04
2) apt-cache policy acpid
acpid:
Installed: 1:2.0.18-1ubuntu2
Candidate: 1:2.0.18-1ubuntu2
Version table:
*** 1:2.0.18-1ubuntu2 0

3) What is expected to happen is when one adjusts the power cord slightly, or accidentally presses the power button, the computer doesn't immediately begin to shutdown.
4) What happens instead is looks like it received a shutdown event. Previously, when I was using Raring with an HDD i386, a message would pop up asking if I wanted to shutdown, which I didn't. However, now that I'm using an SSD, it just immediately starts shutting down without my being able to either prevent the event altogether, or say no.
This is not an issue where when one adjusts the power cord, is it causing the machine to immediately lose power (hard shutoff). The system does have a battery that functions without AC power.
Attempted the following but this did not work:
1) gksudo mousepad /etc/acpi/
change:
/sbin/shutdown -h now "Power button pressed"
to:
# /sbin/shutdown -h now "Power button pressed"
2) cd /etc/acpi && mv powerbtn.sh powerbtn.sh.bak
WORKAROUND: gksudo mousepad /etc/systemd/
change:
#HandlePowerKey
to:
HandlePowerKey=
sudo restart systemd-logind
WORKAROUND: Don't jiggle the point where the power cord meets the board, just pull straight out or straight in. Also, don't hit the power button.

When you adjust the power cord, is it causing the machine to lose power? If so, does the system have a battery in it that functions without AC power?
