Desktop installation not acting upon acpi signals (shutdown)

Hi,

While running virtual clients (kvm) I've noticed the desktop installations are not shutting down when requested. Any server installation does properly shutdown. I've installed both ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso and ubuntu-13.04-server-amd64.iso, the server installation shuts down correct while the desktop installation remains running (does not even write anything under /var/log !)

I've seen this even downto 12.04.

Thus command sent to systems: virsh shutdown <system>
(this is an acpi signal, kvm hypervisor)
