Bug Description
Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit
HP G7-1070US laptop.
Changing the screen brightness was working when first installed, but something is happening that is causing it to stop responding to the Fn keys. Rebooting the machine will not get the brightness controls working again. This has happened in both Ubuntu and Ubuntu2d desktops.
Seems to happen after placing the laptop in sleep mode, waking it on battery, and plugging it in shortly after that.
I can re-enable the function key brightness adjustments by running --
sudo apt-get remove acpi && sudo apt-get install acpi && sudo reboot now
