Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi

Hi, I have an acer aspire one 751h, I can not see the battery icon on the try bar (I have checked the box "display icon only being charged or discharged" on gnome-power-preferences) and "acpi -V" it don't show many informations.
BUT, if I type simply a cat command on /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/* the icon appears and I can see the acpi functions work properly.

This happens on my laptop too. I am on an Acer Aspire 6930-6942, latest updates and stock kernel on AMD64 Maverick. If I run the command above, then the battery will show up, and I can see percentage, time left, etc.
