Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi

If the connected TV is powered off, Ubuntu (intrepid 8.10) beeps, and shuts down immediately. This happened after I included acpi_osi=Linux in the kernel options. I therefore presume the problem lies there.
If I pull the HDMI plug from the laptop, it does not shutdown. Laptop is a Toshiba A300D.
