This error affects my MSI GX620 too and seems to be related to some earlier issues with ACPI's EC. /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ linux/+ bug/270017

I also have the NVIDIA kernel drivers installed (version 180), not sure if that's relevant.
So who do we believe? Is the BIOS acting buggy on this issue or is the kernel's ACPI code poorly designed and executed? These things should be figured out by now, right?
