Bug Description

Suspend to RAM worked in Hardy out of the box.
It does not work in beta Interpid.

echo mem >/sys/power/state - this works only one time. Awakening is bad.

/etc/acpi/sleep.sh - suspends, but after awakening there is only black screen and cursor.

hal-device |grep can_suspend -> can_suspend = bool (false).

I set hal-set-property --udi '/or.....' --key power_management.can_suspend --bool true and restart X (and gpm).
Then gnome-power-management shows the option to suspend on lid close.

But when the lid is closed, notebook does not go to sleep, immediately showing garbled password prompt.

So there is a total mess. It worked, now it does not. Sad!

Is this still the case with intrepid final or in the jaunty development version?
