Well, a quick solution could be this (From ArchLinux wiki page).

* Install "dconf-tools";
* Launch it
* Search for: /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/touchpad/
* Check "tochpad-enable"

This solution "fixed" the problem, in my case at least.
