Can't resume from standby/hibernation on an HP nx7010 laptop

After placing the laptop in either standby or hibernation mode, the computer can't resume correctly (in particular it seems it can't get the monitor back on, since ctrl-f1 ctrl-alt-del restarts it). I tested it on kubuntu dapper (fully updated as of this morning), using either klaptop or kpowersave. It used to work on breezy.

Does close/open lid help getting the screen to display?
It helps for HP nw8240 - see bug 33827

Please run the following commands:

$ lspci -vv | tee /tmp/lspci-vv.log
$ lspci -vvn | tee /tmp/lspci-vvn.log
$ dmesg | tee /tmp/dmesg.log
$ sudo dmidecode | tee /tmp/dmidecode.log

Then, please attach /tmp/lspci-vv.log /tmp/lspci-vvn.log, /tmp/dmesg.log,
and /tmp/dmidecode.log to this bug report using this link:

Closing the lid doesn't help, and it seems that since some time the computer isn't even able to reboot gracefully any more. It just hangs while trying to resume after suspending to ram.
