Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi-support

Upon resume after suspend, CPU usage shoots up to 100% and stays there. This is a Dell D620 laptop with nVidia binary drivers installed. Restarting the machine fixes the problem.

There's no one program in the process list sucking more than 1% of CPU. Powertop shows a huge number of interrupts due to 'acpi'. System feels sluggish under load.

This happens on every resume and represents a regression from Hardy in Intrepid. I didn't realize this was happening until I tried using Inkscape and saw really slow refreshes while working with graphics. I'm guessing there are people out there who are affected by the problem and just haven't noticed that their CPU is at full bore. This kills battery life like you wouldn't believe as well.
