No sound when logging in after suspension

Bug Description

OS : Ubuntu 8.04
Architecture : i586

When I suspend my computer and log in back and try to play a song / movie/ youtube I hear no sound.

Are you using pulseaudio?
If yes try to stop pulseaudio and start it again, worked for me
pulseaudio -k
pulseaudio -D

Do you have a HDA intel soundcard?

If so you get anything if you run "dmesg | grep hda"
