Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi-support

Since Ubuntu Gutsy you can observe a flickering display on samsung P35 together with a 100% cpu usage. To fix it there are 2 possibilties. First one is to stop xserver and edit two scripts.

/etc/acpi/asus-brn-down.sh
/etc/acpi/asus-brn-up.sh

And comment out
#acpi_fakekey

After that restart ubuntu.

The second does not need a restart but first stops(kills) gnome-power-manager. Then comment out the two scripts. After that you restart gnome-power-manager again. After this action there is no flickering display anymore.
