Bug Description
I've been running Gutsy on a Macbook (non pro) C2D for over a month now and have had relatively few probs
and the battery management applet has been pretty accurate, but I just installed the latest kernel driver
package update yesterday (11/17/07) and today after rebooting I noticed the battery applet is reporting 0%.
It still shows if its on AC or battery just no level info and in /var/log/acpid it says:
[Sat Nov 17 14:12:09 2007] completed event "battery BAT0 00000080 00000001"
WARNING: Battery does not report a design capacity. Minimum battery
charge checking does not work without a design capacity.
WARNING: Battery does not report a design capacity. Auto hibernation
does not work without a design capacity.
Laptop mode enabled, active. (Data-loss sensitive features disabled.)
I think that the new Battery driver is not working correctly but Im not sure how to check this.
Thanks for your time

acpid doesn't handle battery events itself, I'm reassigning to acpi-support, but I couldn't find the error message you mention in acpi-support itself. Is this still an issue with Ubuntu 8.10?
