Bug Description

My system will dual boot Windows Vista or Ubuntu 7.10. installed on
separate hard drives. I have 2 problems. Standby or Sleep and
Hibernate will not work properly. Sleep seems to default into Hibernate
mode. And Hibernate locks up and I must shut my system off and restart.
ACPI in bios is set at S3,
My MSI motherboard K9AG Neo2-Digital works fine with Vista
but not with Ubuntu. Also I cannot play .mid music with KMid or any
other similar application I've tried. KMid says my .mid music is not a
regular file.

thanks in advance for any help you can offer,
John

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue with hibernation that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. Please file a new bug for the midi file problem if it continues in a supported Ubuntu release, as each separate issue needs a separate bug report. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
