Bug Description
About 1-minutes after resuming from suspend to RAM, the T42 laptop suspends
itself automatically. Resuming a second time will keep the laptop working.
System type: 1.7GHz Pentium M IBM T42 Laptop.
Reproducability: Always
Steps to reproduce:
1. Suspend to ram
2. Resume
3. Wait a couple of minutes
4. Resume again...
The laptop originally had Warty installed, and the suspend to ram and resume
functions were working fine. The current behavior started after an upgrade to
Hoary (using apt-get). Everything else works fine. Initially, after the upgrade,
the automatic re-suspend occured immediately after resume. However, since a few
days ago after a dist-upgrade, it started taking a couple of minutes before the
spontaneous suspend occurs.
Managed to fix it by removing all the /etc/acpi directory, deleting the
acip-support entries from /var/lib/dpkg/info and resintalling acpi-support.
Apparently some old config files from warty remained and caused the problem.
