could it possibly be trying to use Raptor 1 instead of Raptor 2? If so, could this possibly depend on Bug #787160?

no its using raptor2. its a typical libs in LDFLAG problem
sed -ie "s/AM_LDFLAGS/LIBS/" `find . -name Makefile.am` should probably do it
