Fonts from fonts-3270 version 2.x look *terrible* in the terminal

Bug Description

With version 1.x of fonts-3270, the font looked good in gnome-terminal. This is what was available in Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04.

With version 2.x of this, the fonts have changed, and are HORRIBLE looking. The sizing of the individual letters and numbers is jumbled somehow.

Version 1.x didn't have this problem.

I've attached a screenshot showing the terrible-looking fonts. I'll attempt to do the same for the good-looking ones to illustrate the issue.

I had to retrieve the original 1.x package from the older repositories and install it in order to restore the proper appearance.
