Bug Description

Mailing list software on lists.ubuntu.com seems to mess up with headers and make all PGP/MIME signed content unverifiable to email clients.

This can be a problem with security announcements list, where all messages seem to be PGP/MIME signed.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/996581/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Users of email clients, which don't support GPG see signatures of
S/MIME messages as attachment called signature.asc.

GPG compatible email clients hide them and show is the signature valid
or not. With lists.ubuntu.com mailing lists GPG compatible clients show the
signature.asc file and cannot verify the signature, because they don't
recognize signature.asc as PGP/MIME signature, because the headers
have been modified by mailing list software.

This should be able to be verified with Thunderbird. I know that
Enigmail has this issue and when it's mentioned on their mailing list,
they say that it's problem with Mailman.

NOTICE! I am on mobile broadband with very limited time, so I cannot
read emails very much.
The best time to contact me is probably week ends when I have better
connectivity with good luck.
