Bug Description

just installed ubuntu 12.04 lts and am running using the default unity2d login.

I’ve just started the SDK installer (used both online and offline) and when I get to the choice of where to install use the default,

on pressing next I get a giant (and I mean really massive 10 times the width of a screen) window which is blank. I can’t do any type of install at all. (this is usually where you get to choose what to install)

Has anyone else encountered this problem (basic vanilla install at the moment) and if so what is the solution (apart from going back to 10.4!) am getting quite a few Gtk-CRITICAL IA__gtk_widget_style_get assertions failures in the terminal but not sure why.

A screen shot of the problem can be seen here

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/989433/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

I'm seeing it too, although my desktop becomes unusable so I can't check for any terminal errors. If there is a way to get more information, let me know and I'll post it.

Steps to reproduce:
Install Ubuntu 12.04
Download QtSDK
Install QtSDK

You can run the installation with
-style cleanlooks
For example
./QtSdk-online-linux-x86_64-v1.2.1.run -style cleanlooks
