starting "wine" or "google earth" crashes the x-server after today's update

i've had the same problem a few weeks ago, when i used edgy. after upgrading to feisty (beta) everything ran fine until today's automatical updates:
when i start "wine" or "google earth" it takes a few seconds until the x-server crashs and restarts.

i use nvidia's legacy driver 1.0-9631 (newer versions doesn't run my geforce 2 mx/mx 400) because the driver from ubuntu doesn't work properly with my display.

maybe bug #95606 reports a similar problem?

yes, it was nvidia's driver's fault! i tried the "nv"-driver and everything worked. but how it happen that ndivida's driver ran fine until ubuntu updates some packages?
i'm a newbee, as you can see...

me again: i tried the nvidia-glx-legacy-driver 1.0.784 from the ubuntu-repositories and it works!
