Bug Description

I have a Dell N4010 laptop, with Intel Core i3 and Intel graphics.
Ubuntu installation uses i915 driver.
Everything is working fine, but when i plug an external monitor to the VGA-OUT port, it displays image, i can configure to use it as "Clone" or "Extended" monitor, but in every case the image is always wobbly, trembling.

I had fixed this issue before, on Ubuntu 11.04, using a custom kernel compiled by comebody i've found on a similar bug report for that version.

The custom kernel provided in this comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/614238/comments/125 has fixed my issue.

Is there a chance to include this patch into the stable kernel branch?

Thanks for your bug report. It seems as if you found this report to be a duplicate already, is it alright if I mark this as a duplicate of bug 614238? Also, it would seem as if there are hopes for this being included in the Ubuntu stable kernel branch, as bug 61428 has been marked as triaged and targeted to the oneiric-updates milestone.
