Bug Description

I installed ubuntu 10.10 from CD and my wireless network worked. Hotkeys for turning wireless on/off was not working but wireless LED indicated that WIFI was on all the time.
Ubuntu asked me to upgrade to 11.04, and I did.
In 11.04 my wireless did not work, still an wlan0 interface was present and "ath5k" driver loaded. Trying to activate wireless networking in the networkmanager did not activate wifi.

I blacklisted "acer-wmi" in "/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf" and wifi works again.

Hi,

I just keep the acer-wmi module blacklisted. Once the card got deactivated
somehow, I then removed the blacklist, restarted, reinserted the blacklist,
restarted again, which made the card active and working again. I have so to
speak not solved anything but have the card working by this.
