Please resolve this bug soon. I am still living only because of DrWright.
Bump. For me typing break is indispensable. I have it in Gnome 2.x,
but it is gone for 3.x.

It's now possible to use Workrave in Oneiric. See https:/
Some one who can do Ubuntu Packaging, please do the packaging for Dr Wright..

my idea is to convert drwright rpm (at http://
sudo apt-get install alien
sudo alien -c drwright-
sudo dpkg -i drwright_
Once you install it, typing breaks are configurable via the System Settings menu.
Its not working for me. Any other idea please.

That is a PPA, not Ubuntu - the package is not committed to the official repositories

I get multiple break notifications piling up but staying hidden under Unity, using the ppa version.
Nevertheless, would be great to get this in Ubuntu (again).

If you have a patch to fix it, I'd gladly integrate it.
From a personal email reply, I think that the current upstream maintainer
is not interested in supporting Unity or other non-gnome-3 desktops.

how can I disable the notifications, I just want the typing break to appear, without warnings. Another question. Is there a way to have it in the indicator, as the 2.x version was (with a green/red icon).
Thanks a lot in advance
Savvas Radevic (medigeek) wrote : | #16 |
Hi, you should file a bug upstream about that as it is a wishlist:
https:/
You should also try drwright with gnome 3 (gnome shell), because the
current developer is mainly concentrated on gnome 3.x
Neal McBurnett (nealmcb) wrote : | #17 |
It looks like drwright (aka typing break) has been abandoned, as described here: http://
As also described there, a good alternative is workrave.
But workrave also needs better integration with whatever the bloody notification/
Its a shame, since repetitive-strain injuries are indeed a big problem for computer users, and the folks most affected are exactly the folks that shouldn't be faced with a lot of sudden development/
Sigh.

I've been using Gnome Shell Pomodoro and it works well. There's package for it so you get just apt-get it. http://
