To provide some further detail about the bug still it is still visible in kernel 3.0.0.12-generic. Following the new kernel release USB devices are not detected on return from hibernation. No error message is displayed when initially hibernating.

Apart from the time it takes to recover from hibernation and the USB devices not being detected.

I'm not aware of any other issues...

According to this, the error shouldn't be a problem, and the USB issue is more likely to be the cause of the slowness:

Also suspend don't work with this kernel. Then I'm going back to the kernel of the distribution repositories:

Perhaps the problem be the lacks of related packages linux-firmware and linux-image-extra.
