Bug Description

when powerplay mode in fglrx driver is set to "maximum battery " irrespective of whether its on AC or on Battery mode , opening the dash, and searching becomes unusably slow, this issue was not existing in natty

1) Release 11.10 beta 2
2)fglrx:
  Installed: 2:8.881-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2:8.881-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 2:8.881-0ubuntu2 0
unity:
  Installed: 4.16.0-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 4.16.0-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 4.16.0-0ubuntu2 0
3) the dash was very responsive in Natty regardless the Powerplay option in fglrx Catalyst control center
4) the dash opens extremely slowly in oneiric , and typing the search query is extremely sluggish when Powerplay option is set to maximum battery whether it is on AC or on battery...

the workaround for the issue is to set the Powerplay option to Maximum Performance Mode, which leads to normal performance but it will kill the battery life as well as heat up the machine considerably more by running the gpu in higher clock...
