The Wekit Greeter should become avaiable in the Ubuntu Oneiric repos because it is really easy to theme lightdm with it
If this is due to lightdm not supporting this implementation anymore it should be rethought, as the abilities with wekit are endless, take a look at this login screen developed in a few hours for elementary: http://46.38.232.100/lightdm-theme-elementary/

Thanks xapantu. It shouldn't be too hard to update it to the new API, but let me know if you need any help. The webkit greeter was split out of the core lightdm package (to reduce maintenance), but it is still usable if people want to help in supporting it (contact me if you want commit access).

lp:~xapantu/lightdm-webkit-greeter/fixes is now packaged for Ubuntu and is available from https://code.launchpad.net/~elementaryart/+archive/elementary-dev

Ok, so configuration of the theme is not at /etc/lightdm-webkit-greeter.conf with a key of webkit-theme

Theme location is /usr/share/lightdm-webkit/themes/THEMENAME

Package is built in the elementary development PPA and seems to work fine

When trying to open https://code.launchpad.net/~elementaryart/+archive/elementary-dev it says Forbidden.

Where can I find a .deb to install it?

lightdm-webkit-greeter is available in Ubuntu 12.04 and higher.
