Binary package hint: texlive-pictures

The kuvio LaTeX package has been removed from texlive packages because it is not DFSG free. It perhaps could be packaged up for Ubuntu Multiverse however. Below is the original bug report:

The package texlive-pictures provides, among the others, the kuvio LaTeX package. However it does not install the file Uarrsy.fd. Without it kuvio can't be used with the option to use its own fonts, because it will produce garbage. Kuvio fonts are necessary to use many of kuvio functionalities.

Kuvio font files are available on CTAN at
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/generic/diagrams/kuvio/arrsy/

I had a look at kuvio makefile-dist and it seems that it doesn't install Uarrsy.fd. So, probably the bug is upstream. Since kuvio is unmantained (but perfectly working) since 1996, it probably won't change.

I've not been able to find out where in texmf tree Uarrsy.fd is installed.

The package kuvio has been deleted from the Debian packages as it is not
DFSG free.

Grazie per informarci, ma la resoluzione effetuata era un po differente,
perché abbiamo cancellato kuvio completamente - non è DFSG free.

Quindi se vuoi usarlo dovresti installarlo nel path locale.

Hope kuvio can be mantained in multiverse. Even if it is no more mantained, it is the best commutative diagram package I was able to find.

Well, I assume as long as there none stepping forward to create Debian
packages it will not be available in multiverse in Ubuntu.

I suggest putting it once and for all into TEXMFLOCAL
/usr/local/share/texmf
and be happy with it, since it will not change anyway ;-)
