Bug Description

The repo http://ddebs.ubuntu.com/dists/ no longer lists hardy as a distribution.

I'm trying to debug some crashes on a server but without the debug symbols it's pretty hard.

Have the hardy debug symbols been removed on accident/purpose? Could we get them back please?

Thanks for submitting this bug. THat does look like a mistake to me - hardy on the server should still be supported, so I would think that we should still have ddebs.

However, become curious, I ran into https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash

which suggests that you should jsut be able to apt-get install <package>-dbg for any package. For instance, I just did

   apt-get install mutt-dbg

and got mutt's debug symbols. Does that get you what you need?

I tried that before submitting the bug (forgot to mention it!), but it looks like the -dbg packages only exist for a few packages:

# apt-cache search -- '-dbg$' | wc -l
572

and, the particular debug symbols I need are for postfix, which doesn't seem to exist:

# apt-get install postfix-dbg
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package postfix-dbg

I'm not sure on the difference between the dbg and dbgsym packages.

Any updates on this? Will it be fixed for hardy?

Still no updates? What's holding this up? Why can't the debug packages just be copied back onto the mirror?
