Hello Owen
Have you verified the md5sum of the downloaded image?
Is this key created with startup disk creator or unetbootin ?

I'm getting the same problem. MD5Sum is valid, and the usb disk was created using the windows startup disk creator.

I finally got my system to boot following the instructions for post #7 in

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/syslinux/+bug/617779

However, before doing that, I tried EVERYTHING: unetbooting, ultraiso, multiple usb sticks, ubuntu's live cd creator, and the downloadable version recommended at ubuntus download page. NOTHING worked.

I must say that the version of syslinux I was using was 3.84 not 3.82.
