We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise your question at http://launchpad.net/support. This was a report, not a question. The issue is that people who installed Skype under dapper using the repository and have upgraded to edgy now have a broken skype installation. There is no migration procedure. Perhaps this is an upgrade issue, that if skype was installed from dapper-commercial then the external skype repository needed to be added automatically? Perhaps a dummy package needs to be created informing users of how to upgrade their skype installation?

Hi Stuart, The *-commercial repositories are hosted by the professional services division of Canonical Ltd. They are not part of Ubuntu proper. Please contact Canonical itself for support with these issues. Thanks for your report!
