Upgrade to 6.10 dies on ivman

Bug Description

I upgraded to LTS from 5.10 as recommended brfore upgrade to 6.10. Could not complete upgrade from LTS to 6.10 using ANY method.

System now will not reboot and still cannot upgrade even using apt-get from command line.

Every upgrade attempt stops with a fatal error on ivman
