Bug Description

Hello

The maximum resolution on FUJITSU SIEMENS ESPRIMO Mobile V5535 is 640x480 without possibility to change it. There are no additional drivers available in "systems->administration->additional drivers"
There is a 2D Linux driver available for SIS 671 so can it get included in jockey database please?
I have followed instructions from http://hellbunker.blogspot.com/2010/11/sis-m671-on-linux.html and it worked for me. However even with this driver you can not use external monitor or have 3D.

Kernel : 2.6.35-24-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 2 01:41:57 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
I have also tried 2.6.36 and 2.6.37 to no avail

Graphic card details from lspci:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 771/671 PCIE VGA Display Adapter (rev 10) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Fujitsu Technology Solutions Device 1125
Flags: 66MHz, medium devsel, IRQ 16
 BIST result: 00
 Memory at c0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
 Memory at d4000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=128K]
 I/O ports at 9000 [size=128]
 Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2
 Capabilities: [50] AGP version 3.0

I have filled report for Ubuntu 10.10 on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/Laptop/Maverick/FujitsuSiemensEsprimoV5535

Thank you

Dariusz

Hi Dariusz,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I have tested it with 2.6.36 and 2.6.37 which has been installed from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ with no improvement.

Do you want me to try one from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/daily/current ?
